THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS #LFW

In no particular order – (I wish I could put them all in a circle. That would be the most democratic way to do it, but sadly wordpress only allows me certain themes/formats, and I’m not one of these people that can actually write code. So, on we go:)

With that kind of Manicure, who needs a boyfriend?

1. THESE NAILS

at Giles

I can see a Rainbow

2. THIS HAIR

at MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF

BLACK LEATHER

3. THIS WOMAN

Marios Schwab’s shameless Joan-Jett-esque Vixens

Fancy Pants

4. THESE PANTS

at Jaegar London.

Every self-respecting girl

needs these in every colour. Immediately.

5. THIS MUSIC

at Charles Anastase. Gotta love a man with a sense of humour.

To the Window, To the Wall

6. THIS SPACE

Someone FINALLY used the incredible space at Battersea Power Station for a show!

Nice one, Matthew Williamson.

Please don't stop the Music

7. THIS SPOOF

Darcel at London Fashionweek. Especially his rendering of

Dame Westwood pulling the plug on Jeff’s dj set.

I dont know why i love you, but i do

8. THIS LOOK

from Erdem.

Didn’t like anything else in the collection, but suddenly this dress came out of nowhere

and BAM it was love at first sight. How does he do that?!

9. THESE SHOES

Realised by architect Julian Hake, and worn by Ada Zanditon’s models

whilst showcasing her collection at ON/OFF this season.

Look, Learn, Love

10. THIS MAN

and his entire collection.

Mr Duro Olowu produced the most vibrant (re: aesthetic, colour, print combos, styling)

yet subtle (re: understated, elegant and intimate presentation)

collections of the entire week.

All hail.

IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

This was a welcome Ray of Light to start an otherwise overcast and gloomy day. What with all the shit going down in the markets yesterday, and the incredible demise of Lehman Bro.s, it would have been very difficult to put on a brave face and continue to enjoy the shows this week in London Town…

But there is hope! – in the form of this article that i found today on the TimesOnline. It is a very encouraging and inspiring piece on the growing power and influence of the London Fashion Scene. Although to me it’s like pointing out the obvious, it describes through the words of several contributors from industry how we are not only a dynamic, vibrant and expressive Fashion Capital, but that we are also nurturing and supporting our new and existing fashion talents so that they can produce and sell their products on a commercial level – enabling them to grow their businesses and establish themselves as forces to be reckoned with in a fiercely competitive industry.

In times of economic crisis such as these, it’s good to know that you’ll be backing a winner if you invest heart, soul, and hard currency in London Fashion.
